About the Role

Soccer Stars and Little Rookies of NW Austin & Pflugerville is seeking a Full-Time Head Coach & Assistant Director to join our growing team. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who wants to combine hands-on coaching with leadership responsibilities and is passionate about early childhood sports education in a fun, non-competitive setting.

You’ll lead soccer and t-ball classes for children ages 1–10, mentor new coaches, support scheduling and operations, and help ensure every class delivers a positive, engaging experience for families.

What You’ll Do

  • Coach & Lead: Deliver high-energy soccer and t-ball classes for children ages 1–10, following our curriculum and philosophy of “building skills through fun.”
  • Mentor & Support: Assist in training, mentoring, and supporting part-time coaches to ensure consistency and quality across all programs.
  • Coordinate & Communicate: Support scheduling, coach assignments, and substitutions while maintaining clear communication with site directors and parents.
  • Observe & Evaluate: Visit partner schools and community locations weekly to observe classes and provide performance feedback.
  • Promote & Grow: Represent Soccer Stars and Little Rookies at demos, community events, and local partnerships.
  • Lead by Example: Model professionalism, punctuality, and enthusiasm in every session.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: 1–2 years working with children in coaching, early childhood education, or youth recreation.
  • Leadership: A self-starter who can take initiative, guide others, and maintain a positive team culture.
  • Energy: Fun, reliable, and enthusiastic about helping kids learn and grow.
  • Organization: Strong communication and planning skills; able to manage schedules and adapt quickly.
  • Location: Based in Greater Austin with reliable transportation (travel between schools in Cedar Park, Leander, Pflugerville, Round Rock, North and South Austin and Lakeway).
  • Tech Skills: Comfortable with Google Workspace (Calendar, Drive, Sheets), email communication, and mobile scheduling apps.
  • Certifications: CPR/First Aid preferred (we’ll provide if needed). Must pass a background check for childcare programs. Spanish-English bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply (not required). These skills help us better support our Spanish-immersion preschool partners.
