What will you be doing?

  • Coach student-athletes in skill development, strategy, and competition preparation
  • Design and implement structured practice plans for individual and team growth
  • Observe athletes during practice and competition and provide actionable feedback
  • Assign team positions and develop game strategies aligned with athlete strengths
  • Monitor student-athlete academic performance and eligibility; maintain behavioral standards
  • Communicate expectations and provide updates to athletes, parents, and school staff
  • Collaborate with assistant coaches, school leadership, and operations staff to strengthen the program
  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and league regulations; maintain safety and proper equipment use
  • Support team events, award ceremonies, fundraising, and other school athletics initiatives

What do we require from you?

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Physical Education, Coaching, or related field
  • NJ Teaching or Substitute Certification
  • Required certifications: First Aid & CPR, AED, Epi-pen use, Coaching Fundamentals (NJSIAA)
  • Minimum of 3–5 years coaching experience at the high school or college level
  • Proven ability to design and implement skill development and competitive strategies
  • Experience mentoring student-athletes and/or assistant coaches
  • Strong collaboration, communication, organization, and follow-through skills
  • Commitment to the mission of preparing all students for college and career readiness
