Hardware Engineer – Digital / Mixed-Signal (IoT) 

Summary:  

We are seeking a Hardware Engineer with strong expertise in digital and mixed-signal hardware design to work on IoT and connected products. This role involves end-to-end ownership of hardware development, from system architecture and component selection to validation and documentation. 

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with firmware, RF, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver reliable, low-power, and scalable hardware solutions. Exposure of RF and wireless technologies is a strong advantage. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design and develop digital and mixed-signal hardware circuits for IoT and embedded products 

  • Define system architecture, block diagrams, and detailed hardware documentation 

  • Perform component selection and manage Bill of Materials (BoM) considering cost, availability, and lifecycle 

  • Design low-power, battery-operated systems, including sleep modes and power-optimization strategies 

  • Interface and integrate MCUs, peripherals, sensors, and wireless modules 

  • Participate in cross-functional design reviews and technical discussions 

  • Support hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation of prototypes 

  • Ensure designs meet manufacturability, reliability, and quality standards 

Required Technical Skills:

Hardware Interfaces & Protocols:

  • SPI, I²C, UART 

  • Ethernet, USB 

  • CAN (good to have) 

  • Wireless & Sensor Technologies 

  • Bluetooth / BLE 

  • Wi-Fi 

  • LoRa 

  • GNSS / GPS 

  • ADCs and sensor interfacing 

  • Exposure to Zigbee, Thread, NB-IoT, or LTE-M is a plus 

  • Low-Power Hardware Design 

  • Power-optimized circuit design 

  • Battery-based system design 

  • Sleep-mode and energy-efficient design techniques 

Tools & Software: 

  • Altium Designer 

  • Altium 365 

  • Schematic capture and PCB design workflows 

  • Design documentation and release artifacts 

  • Microsoft Excel for analysis, tracking, and reporting 

RF Experience (Preferred / Added Advantage) 

  • Antenna fundamentals (active and passive) 

  • Matching network design and tuning 

  • RF layout best practices 

  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment such as: 

  • Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) 

  • Vector Signal Analyzer (VSA) 

  • Network Analyzer 

  • Validation & Testing (Good to Have) 

  • Hardware bring-up and functional validation 

  • RF performance testing and benchmarking 

  • Experience with automated test setups is a bonus 

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and debugging skills 

  • Clear communication and structured documentation 

  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams 

  • Strong ownership mindset and attention to detail 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master's degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering or related field 

  • Proven experience in hardware design for embedded or IoT products
