Position Summary
The engineering co-op student will work alongside, and in support of, R&D hardware and systems engineering teams. The engineering teams are a diverse, collaborative group working on the support and/or development of medical devices; the devices are used to automate in-vitro diagnostics typically found in a microbiology lab. The engineering co-op student will be supervised and mentored by the Directors, Managers, and Sr. Engineers in the engineering team of Systems Development.
Primary Duties
Project Activities: This position will include creation and execution of verification tests, troubleshooting and evaluating instrument and system issues and design alternatives, and supporting engineering evaluations and feasibility efforts.
Design and Development Process: The co-op will be given the opportunity to acquire knowledge and understanding of the bioMérieux Design Control Process that addresses US and international regulatory requirements, as well as internal Quality requirements.
Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education, Training and Experience
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
Specific Field, Function, or Specialization: At least 1 year of degree program completed (Related life sciences, computer science, data science, or microbiology program)
- Must be currently enrolled in a BS or MS Program in a related life sciences, computer science, data science, or microbiology program
