About the Role
We are hiring a full-time GTM Automation Engineer to architect, automate, and optimize our outbound growth systems. This is a hybrid role combining Clay automation expertise, light engineering, outbound infrastructure, experimentation, and crisp copywriting.
You will build and maintain the machine behind our outbound engine: Clay workflows, enrichment pipelines, domain infrastructure, multi-tool integrations, personalization systems, and data dashboards. You will run high-velocity experiments, write conversion-focused outbound copy, troubleshoot deliverability, and scale sending volume across hundreds of thousands of leads.
You will work closely with our marketing, product, and sales teams - but you will own your domain with a high degree of autonomy. The systems you build will directly drive pipeline, revenue, and go-to-market strategy. This is a highly technical, high-leverage role that sits at the intersection of engineering and growth. The impact you make here will be massive.
Responsibilities
You will own the entire outbound automation machine, including:
1. Clay Workflows & Lead Infrastructure
- Build advanced Clay workflows for scraping, enrichment, verification, scoring, routing, and personalization
- Use APIs, webhooks, and custom code steps to automate data pipelines
- Create ICP logic, trigger systems, and multi-step lead flows
2. Multi-Domain Email Infrastructure, Deliverability, Verification
- Set up hundreds, up to thousands of domains, warming, DNS, DMARC, DKIM, SPF
- Build scalable campaign systems in Instantly using Apollo data
- Know the ins and outs of email verification: LeadMagic, BounceBan, and more
- Maintain deliverability and sending health across all domains
- Implement verification, cleansing, and bounce prevention
3. Experiments & Optimization
- Ship several outbound experiments per week, measure results
- Test variations of copy, subject lines, offers, personas
- Build dashboards to track open → reply → meeting → revenue
- Identify bottlenecks and improve system performance continuously
4. Copywriting & Messaging
- Write clear outbound emails and short-form sequences
- Use Clay’s AI rewriting + dynamic variables for deep personalization
- Create persona-based messaging frameworks
5. Data & Engineering Tasks
- Write small scripts (Python, JavaScript) when needed
- Integrate tools through API calls and workflows
- Clean, transform, and normalize data
- Maintain accurate metrics and reporting
Outcomes You Will Be Accountable For
Scaling outbound sending volume from 5k → 50k → 250k+ emails/month
Improving reply rates and meeting-booked rates through experimentation
Reducing cost per qualified meeting
Building a predictable outbound funnel that feeds Sales every day
Ensuring strong deliverability across all domains and systems
Automating manual steps so the outbound engine becomes self-sustaining
Requirements
Must-Have
- Expert-level Clay experience (advanced formulas, automations, integrations)
- Strong experience with Apollo and Instantly
- Ability to write clean, concise outbound copy in English
- Experience setting up email domains, DNS, verification, warming
- Ability to write scripts with Python/JS
- Strong data skills (normalization, dedupe, cleansing, schema design)
- Experience running large-scale outbound campaigns
- Strong analytical and experimentation mindset
- Portfolio/GitHub/work samples showing past automation work
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with CRMs (HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce)
- Experience in B2B SaaS outbound
- Built outbound systems sending 100k–1M+ emails/month
- Experience with dashboards (Looker Studio, Retool, Metabase)
- Familiarity with web scraping tools and unofficial APIs
