Position Summary:

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this position is a tremendous opportunity to help support the Production Supervisor and drive production while managing safety, quality, productivity and cost. Position Responsibilities:

(Key results expected from this position in the first 6-12 months)

  • Responsible for the daily activities required to meet the production schedule
  • Make sure proper manning is in place to support the TAKT time
  • Ensure adequate training is administered to the new employees
  • Meet all safety, quality, productivity and MRO goals for the area
  • Properly fill out an hour by hour sheet each day, repair logs, checklists, etc.
  • Correctly production report items daily
  • Follow standard work as established and responsible for taking time observations and laying out standard work as needed.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and other team members at all levels in the organization
  • Responsible for monitoring repairs and scrap as well as providing corrective actions to the supervisor
  • May be assigned to drive fork truck and repair on assembly line as well
  • Must be able to do basic math
  • Must be able to stand and walk for 10-12 hours per day and lift up to 40 lbs.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, heat and cold.
  • Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Ability to stand prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to hear sounds and differentiate between them.
  • Ability to visually understand distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and color vision.

Education/Experience:

(Minimum education and experience required and key personal characteristics)

  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience working in a fast paced manufacturing setting, assembly experience is required
  • Must have excellent written and oral skills
  • Excellent attendance is required and safe work history
  • Must be self-motivated and work well under high pressure situations
  • Must have leadership ability in the workplace
  • Able to give and receive constructive criticism
  • Has experience with lean manufacturing by working in a lean environment
  • Has a good understanding of ergonomics and how they apply to the work area.
  • Previous experience building and testing finished product is necessary
  • Must have or be able to get fork truck certification
  • Willing to move to other lines as needed
  • Knowledge of compressor assembly and electric motors is preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and able to communicate through emails.
