Compensation range: $2,000 AUD - $3,000 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who The Client Is: The client is a privately held, family-owned enterprise with a long operating history in the machinery and equipment industry. The organisation has undergone rapid growth over the past few years, substantially increasing both its workforce and revenue. As part of this expansion, the business is investing in talent to support scale, operational excellence, and long-term sustainability.

Role Overview: The group is seeking a qualified Accountant to join our central finance team, ensuring strong financial management and governance across the group and to support the business into its next phase of investment and growth. You will have exposure to financial control, statutory reporting, management accounting, systems upgrade and banking and treasury activities.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Work alongside the CFO and Group Financial Controller to uplift the entire control framework across the group.
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for key areas.
  • Support finance staff member Groups new ERP system – E Emphasys (stuck batches, errors, invoice entry issues)
  • Support annual external audit and financial statement preparation for the group.
  • Preparation of monthly Business activity statements and other tax related calculations.
  • Support Group Financial Controller with the production of management reporting and insights into the business.
  • Preparation of market share analysis for C suite
  • Prepare daily cash sweeps across the group treasury function
  • Invoice entry and reconciliation
  • Prepare half yearly information requirements for financiers/banking group
  • Prepare Australian bureau of statistics surveys
  • Own the lease accounting processes and procedures across the group using the Nomos
  • software system
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasting.
  • Analyse internal operations and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant (CA / CPA or equivalent), or near completion.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in financial or group accounting roles, ideally within multi-entity or multi-site environments.
  • Strong balance sheet and control focus, with experience supporting audits, BAS, and monthly reporting cycles.
  • Comfortable partnering with senior finance leaders and engaging with operational stakeholders across multiple locations.
  • Experience working with large ERP or dealership management systems; exposure to system implementations or upgrades is highly regarded.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with reporting or BI tools is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive, with the ability to identify process improvements and cost efficiencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
