The Graphic Designer and Video Producer is responsible for designing and updating print and digital materials and designing and producing videos for internal and external stakeholders that adhere to NCBE’s branding and quality standards, security procedures, and policies. This person is a member of the Communications Department who collaborates with team members across the organization to produce high-quality print, digital, and video products.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists staff on best practices for using logos, colors, fonts, and imagery to be compliant with NCBE identity guidelines.
  • Assists with design and content updates for NCBE public and secure websites.
  • Selects and prepares images for various platforms, including websites, presentations, emails, and social media channels. Helps ensure websites and email communications are compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility standards.
  • Helps produce and update publications, including the Bar Examiner magazine, Comprehensive Guide to Bar Admission Requirements, and the Year in Review.
  • Produces and edits videos and designs animated graphics. Edits and reviews educational/training videos from recorded meetings and creates embedded animations.
  • Designs and creates motion graphics for social media and events.
  • Collaborates across departments on video production process, including developing scripts, establishing production timelines, and recording audio/video.
  • Assists with the design and production of NCBE materials and templates, such as study aids, reports, white papers, corporate identity materials, online learning videos/modules, presentations, email communications, and more.
  • Helps produce various media for NCBE educational conferences and events, including print materials, signage, email communications, promotional items, presentations, and more.
  • Color corrects and crops photos taken at NCBE events for various uses. May assist with photography at NCBE events.
  • Assists in remediating pdf documents to meet ADA accessibility standards.
  • Prepares files for use in digital and print environments.
  • Stays up to date on current design and communication trends.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field or equivalent experience.  3+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop (creating and preparing graphics for print and digital use), InDesign, Acrobat, and Premiere required; experience with Adobe Illustrator preferred.
  • Experience in CMS (preferably WordPress and Drupal) updating text, graphics, and layouts required.
  • Experience with After Effects preferred.
  • Experience working with vendors and preparing files for print, web, and social media.
  • Strong work ethic and keen eye for quality design.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
  • Demonstrated proofreading skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in work.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to assess challenges and develop solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience working with digital cameras, videography, audio, and lighting.
  • Experience with Acrobat pdf accessibility remediation, developing PowerPoint presentations, working with LMS modules, and photographing people/events is a bonus.

 

The Graphic Designer and Video Producer may work a hybrid remote schedule with some on-site days required. This position may include the opportunity for limited travel to meetings and/or conferences.
