Our Global Finance organization plays a critical role in enabling SumUp’s growth by ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong governance, and scalable finance operations across more than 35 entities worldwide. We work closely across functions and geographies, combining solid accounting foundations with automation and continuous improvement.
As Global P2P Team Leader, you will lead our global Procure-to-Pay function, combining strong people leadership with operational excellence. You will ensure timely and accurate supplier payments, high-quality expense reporting, and drive automation initiatives that reduce manual work and improve scalability across the group.
Lead and develop a global Procure-to-Pay team of approximately 14 professionals across Sofia and São Paulo
Ensure timely, accurate processing and payment of supplier invoices across 35+ SumUp entities
Own the expense accuracy of the Group P&L, including accruals and deferrals
Oversee regular payment runs in line with supplier credit terms and treasury policies
Act as the key point of contact for complex supplier setups, contract-related accounting questions, and escalation topics
Drive continuous improvement, automation, and standardisation across P2P processes
Partner with ERP teams, Global Process Owners, and Treasury on initiatives such as:
Invoice recognition and approval tooling
Purchase order and contract management solutions
Payment and treasury systems
Monitor workload distribution and team capacity, proactively identifying optimisation opportunities as automation progresses
Work closely with Controlling, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, ERP, and the wider business
Ensure proper tax treatment of supplier spend in collaboration with Tax teams
Support Controlling with reconciliations, variance analysis, and balance sheet quality improvements
Coordinate closely with auditors to ensure smooth monthly and annual closings
Lead, coach, and develop a junior and growing team in a dynamic international environment
Foster engagement, motivation, and retention through clear expectations, feedback, and development plans
Support hiring, onboarding, and future team design aligned with automation and business needs
You have 8+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or Procure-to-Pay roles with increasing responsibility
You have proven experience leading teams in an international or multi-entity environment
You bring a strong understanding of accounting principles, expense recognition, and month-end close processes
You have experience driving process improvements, automation initiatives, or system implementations
You are comfortable partnering with senior stakeholders across Finance and the wider business
You communicate confidently in English and collaborate effectively across cultures
You are hands-on, proactive, and thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments
ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification
Experience in financial services or large international organisations
Exposure to audit processes and large-scale transformation initiatives
