In your role as Global IT Team Lead SAP FICO  you will be responsible for the overall strategy, governance, and delivery of SAP Finance and Controlling solutions across the organization’s global landscape.
This role ensures that SAP financial processes are harmonized, compliant, and aligned with business objectives — driving efficiency, automation, and financial integrity.

The position acts as both a functional leader and a solution architect, managing a global team of SAP FICO experts and collaborating with cross-functional leads (SD, MM, HR, SCM) to ensure an integrated enterprise solution.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the global SAP FICO team in designing, implementing, and supporting SAP Finance and Controlling processes (GL, AP, AR, AA, CO, COPA, etc.).
  • Govern global SAP FICO template design and ensure consistency across regions and business units.
  • Manage the FICO configuration, enhancements, and transports.
  • Drive process standardization, simplification, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead a team of SAP FICO consultants and central key users
  • Provide mentorship, career development, and performance management for FICO team members.
  • Coordinate with global Process Owners, PMO, and BASIS/ABAP/Integration teams for project delivery.
  • Ensure that SAP financial processes comply with internal controls IFRS/GAAP and audit requirements.
  • Oversee the design, build, and rollout of SAP FICO functionality in global or regional projects.
  • Manage issue resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous support for production systems.
  • Support the organization’s journey to S/4HANA through planning, migration, and adoption.

Skills & Competencies

  • Deep knowledge of FI (GL, AR, AP, AA, Bank Accounting), CO (Cost Centers, Internal Orders, Product Costing, COPA)
  • Proven ability to lead diverse global teams, drive collaboration, and deliver in matrix organizations
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, corporate finance, and controlling processes
  • Experience establishing process and change governance across multiple regions
  • Familiar with SAP integration points (MM, SD, PS, HR), IDocs, interfaces, and workflow
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 10+ years SAP FICO experience, including at least 3 years as a Team Lead or Solution Architect.
  • Hands-on experience with S/4HANA Finance is a plus
  • Strong understanding of financial integration across modules (MM, SD, PP, PS, HR).
  • Experience leading global template implementations and multi-country rollouts.
