Global IT Team Lead – SAP Cross Applications (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Global Team Lead to oversee our SAP Cross Applications team, covering key technical areas such as SAP Basis, Authorizations, and ABAP Development.
This position combines hands-on SAP Basis expertise with strategic leadership, ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our global SAP landscape.

You will lead a global team of specialists, coordinate technical operations across regions, and play a crucial role in guiding the roadmap for our SAP environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a global team responsible for SAP Basis, Authorizations, and ABAP Development.
• Serve as the technical authority for SAP Basis, overseeing system performance, upgrades, patching, and landscape design.
• Manage SAP system installations, upgrades, migrations, and support packages in collaboration with external partners
• Support project teams in technical planning and landscape design.
• Proactively recommend and implement improvements in stability, performance, and automation.
• Manage activities regarding user access and authorization concepts, ensuring compliance with security standards.
• Coordinate and prioritize global development activities in cooperation with the other SAP streams
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to ensure system reliability and scalability.
• Establish global governance, documentation, and standard operating procedures for SAP technical operations.
• Monitor system health, capacity planning, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation across the areas in responsibility.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in SAP technical operations, with deep hands-on experience in SAP Basis (system administration, installation, performance tuning, upgrades, etc.).
• Strong understanding of SAP transport management, client copies, system refreshes, and upgrades.
• Knowledge of SAP security, authorization concepts, and system monitoring tools.
• Experience leading global or cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage complex SAP landscapes (ECC or S/4HANA).
• Familiarity with HANA database, Solution Manager, and SAP Cloud Platform is a plus.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
• Fluent in English (additional languages are an advantage).
