Global Head of Tax (F/M/D)

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented person to join the team as the Global Head of Tax. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, as the Head of Tax you will be responsible for the global tax strategy, increasing tax efficiency and ensuring compliance with all tax regulations and legislation. You will play an integral role in optimising the financial position, working closely with the CFO and other key senior stakeholders in the leadership team, regional business heads, group finance team, as well as external equity partners and advisers.

You should be a tax professional with a passion for cryptocurrency and digital assets, as this role requires a comprehensive understanding of tax laws and tax accounting as they pertain to our organisation alongside excellent project management skills, a strategic mindset and strong communication skills.

Your Mission

• Leading the Group’s tax planning and compliance, considering the future strategy of the business, group policy and local regulations
• Prepare and/or review tax provisions, calculations, and tax-related disclosures for financial statements and regulatory filings, enquiries or audits/inspections
• Reviewing and maintenance of the Group-wide transfer pricing position and related documentation
• Monitoring, management and forecasting the Group’s overall effective tax rate to ensure efficient structuring of group operations, identifying and recommending opportunities for improvement
• Managing and maintaining relationships with regional tax authorities and external tax advisers
• Manage cross-border tax issues, including withholding tax obligations
• Tax advice and support for launching new products
• Conduct due diligence and assess tax implications of potential transactions, including deal execution, implementation and integration
• Review of existing investment structures and restructuring proposals
• Supporting the HR department with technical tax advice on employment issues, including on the tax implications of cross border employee transfers or new hires

Requirements

Background & experience

• 10+ years of experience in tax accounting and compliance
• Fully qualified Accountant or Tax professional
• Experience in-house with a major financial services firm or within the financial services practice of a leading accountancy firm
• A deep knowledge of the regulatory landscape, specific to both trading and crypto
• Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations of various major jurisdictions on financial or crypto products and services, including transfer pricing
• International tax experience, with extensive understanding of global taxation rules and ability to keep up to date on the ever-changing global tax landscape and how it may impact the company
• Transfer Pricing, sales tax and ideally employment tax knowledge and experience
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships at all levels, including the Board
• Sound judgment and strong analytical skills, with a proactive and practical approach to tax risks
• English is mandatory

• Passionate about cryptocurrency and blockchain
• Analytical thinker with the ability to understand problems, determine root cause and recommend appropriate solutions
• You are an excellent communicator, able to provide mentorship and training to stakeholders on tax-related topics
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, must be able to relate complex concepts in a concise and easy to understand manner
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects, often under tight time constraints
• Effectively work with peers, leadership, and stakeholders in a productive collaborative environment
• Being happy diving into detail, but also stepping back and putting the bigger picture at the forefront of decisions making
• Ability to understand and comply with confidentiality and privacy rules and protect company property and confidential information
• Knowledge of Web3 environment is a plus
