Job Summary: 

The Global Event Manager is responsible for planning and executing high-impact event experiences that engage audiences and support marketing and business objectivesAs part of D2L’s Global Events Team within Marketing, this role includes the planning and execution of Fusion, our global annual user conference, while also supporting other events in the North America region, and collaborating closely with global and regional stakeholders. 

You will lead the end-to-end execution of D2L proprietary and third-party sponsored events, delivering experiences that generate leads, influence pipeline, strengthen brand momentum, and showcase D2L’s customers, products, and services. 

This is a 16-month contact position that offers the opportunity to take ownership of a key events in the market while gaining exposure to global programs, stakeholders, and best practices. 

 

What You’ll Do:  

  • Own the planning and execution of key North America (NA) events from concept through on-site execution, and post-event follow-up. 
  • Co-lead the planning and execution of Fusion, D2L’s global annual user conference. 
  • Partner with global and regional teams to deliver seamless, high-quality event experiences. 
  • Coordinate event logistics, production, content, creative, messaging, and technical requirements. 
  • Prepare and manage timelines, budgets, risks, purchase requests, and stakeholder communications. 
  • Liaise with and support speakers, sponsors, vendors, and event staff. 
  • Proactively troubleshoot issues during planning and onsite at events. 
  • Support event promotion, registration, engagement, and follow-up across channels. 
  • Maintain the event calendar and communicate outcomes and insights internally. 
  • Stay informed on the NA event landscape and emerging trends to continuously improve event impact. 

 

What You’ll Bring: 

  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience managing end-to-end in-person events. 
  • Strong project management, organizational, and multitasking skills. 
  • Ability to think quickly under pressure, solve complex problems, and adapt in fast-paced environments. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and drive cross-functional alignment and accountability. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. 
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners. 
  • High attention to detail with strong follow-through. 
  • Self-motivated and outgoing individual with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with others. 
  • Creative mindset with a continuous improvement approach. 
  • Writing or copywriting experience is an asset. 
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) is an asset. 
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours and travel domestically and internationally, as needed. 

The expected base salary range for a new hire in this role is listed below. The annualized base salary offered is determined by each candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, training and experience. It is aligned to ensure both internal and external competitiveness using market data for the geographic location and industry. As part of the total compensation at D2L the role may be eligible for additional benefits including a Wellness Subsidy, Equity Grants, Variable Incentive, and more.

Base Salary Range
$65,000$90,000 CAD
