Workstream is looking for a Team Lead for our Global Data Operations. As a Team Lead, you are the critical link between the front-line contributors and our business operations. You will manage the entire lifecycle of a Video Data Contributor: identifying high-potential candidates, guiding them through onboarding, managing their daily output, and ensuring their hours are verified for payment.

Day in the Life

Real-Time Communication & Support

  • Communication Management: Serve as the primary moderator and responder for the team’s group chats and 1-on-1 chats.
  • Rapid Troubleshooting: Address contributor inquiries regarding equipment setup, filming guidelines, and technical blockers in real-time to minimize downtime.
  • Engagement: Broadcast project updates, celebrate top performers, and maintain a high-touch, supportive team culture.

Quality Assurance & Daily Ops

  • Footage Auditing: Perform daily spot checks on video submissions to ensure they meet strict AI training requirements (lighting, 1080p/30FPS, 0.5x zoom).
  • Feedback Loops: Deliver direct, constructive feedback to contributors whose footage is rejected to ensure future success.

Recruitment & People Ops Collaboration

  • Candidate Screening: collaborate with Recruiting team in hiring new team members.
  • Onboarding & Follow-up: guide new hires through the onboarding funnel, ensuring NDAs are signed, head-mounted cameras are configured correctly, and first-time uploads are successful.
  • Retention: Identify "at-risk" contributors who are falling behind on hours and intervene to get them back on track.

Payroll & Finance Coordination

  • Hours Verification: Audit weekly timesheets against Google Drive video uploads to ensure accuracy
  • Finance Submission: Consolidate and submit "Ready-to-Pay" reports to the Finance department, ensuring contributors are paid accurately and on time.
  • Payment Support: Resolve any pay-related discrepancies or inquiries from the team with transparency and speed.

Who You Are

  • Experience: 3+ years leading remote or BPO teams, ideally in marketplace ops, "gig economy" management, or data labeling.
  • Master Communicator: You are a "WhatsApp power user" who can manage high-volume messaging without losing track of details.
  • Tech-Savvy: Highly proficient with Google Workspace (Sheets/Drive), Greenhouse (or similar ATS), and smartphone camera settings.
  • People-First: You enjoy coaching others and are comfortable having firm conversations about quality and deadlines.
  • Reliable: You understand that for a remote team, the Lead is the "glue" that keeps the operation from falling apart.
  • Must be available to work during US business hours as needed.
  • Exceptional English (written and verbal).
  • Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet workspace for video calls.
