Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:

The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, performing regular account reconciliations, and analyzing financial data to identify discrepancies. The position supports audits, ensures compliance with policies and regulations, and collaborates with other teams to resolve accounting issues. It also includes managing the fixed asset register, recording asset transactions, posting depreciation, and reconciling the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger, while ensuring all entries are accurate and well-documented.

Requirements

Essential Functions include the following:

General Ledger

• Maintain, reconcile the general ledger accounts and submit reconciliation reports in Blackline system accurately and timely.
• Prepare journal entries, ensuring appropriate documentation and approval.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with other relevant employees to gather financial data and resolve accounting issues.
• Continuously improve processes related to general ledger accounting and reconciliations.

Fixed Assets

• Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and completeness of asset data.
• Record acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and adjustments of fixed assets.
• Run and post depreciation entries in accordance with company policy and applicable accounting standards.
• Perform regular reconciliation of the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger.
• Ensure all asset transactions are properly documented and supported.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or equivalent
• Certifications/Skills CPA, an advantage but not required
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
• Experience With at least 5 years of solid work experience in General Ledger under a computerized accounting setup
• Strong knowledge in MS Excel and other reporting tools
• Experience in the use of Microsoft D365, an advantage

Job Type: Full-Time Permanent

Schedule: Monday to Thursday: 3 PM - 1 AM PHT (Including 1 hour break); Friday: 4 PM – 1 AM PHT (including 1 hour break)
