GIS Analyst

Rayn is looking for a GIS Analyst to support the delivery of multiple GIS-enabled digital projects, including the development and implementation of GIS modules within data-driven platforms. This role involves working across data preparation, spatial analysis, system integration, and visualization, ensuring that GIS components are accurate, scalable, and aligned with project requirements. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and data teams to translate spatial data into functional features and actionable insights.

What you will bring to Rayn as a GIS Analyst

GIS Data Management & Preparation

• Review, clean, and standardize spatial datasets (administrative boundaries, infrastructure, project locations, etc.)
• Ensure consistency in coordinate systems, formats, and data structures
• Identify data gaps and define requirements for missing datasets

Spatial Database & Integration

• Advanced capabilities in spatial analysis and modeling.
• Design and manage spatial databases (e.g. PostGIS)
• Link GIS layers with backend datasets for visualization (projects, KPIs, financial data)
• Work with developers to integrate GIS data into the platform

Mapping & Visualization

• Configure map layers, symbology, and legends
• Develop Choropleth maps, Heatmaps and Multi-layer visualizations
• Enable drill-down views (national → regional → local levels)

Platform Integration

• Support implementation using tools such as Mapbox / Leaflet / ArcGIS
• Assist in building APIs and data pipelines for GIS data
• Enable map-based filtering and interactive dashboards

Quality Assurance & Documentation

• Validate spatial accuracy and data consistency
• Maintain metadata and GIS documentation
• Support testing and refinement of GIS features

Who We’re Looking For

• A minimum of Bachelors Degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Remote Sensing, or related field
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in GIS analysis and implementation
• Experience working on Data-driven platforms or dashboards and Large or multi-source datasets

• Strong command of GIS tools such as ArcGIS / QGIS
• Experience working with:
  • Spatial data formats (Shapefile, KML/KMZ, GeoJSON, etc.)
  • Coordinate systems and projections
  • Raster and vector data processing
• Working knowledge of:
  • PostGIS or spatial databases
  • Web GIS tools (Mapbox, Leaflet, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with web mapping libraries (Leaflet, Mapbox, D3.js) and RESTful APIs
