Undertaking core logging responsibilities with the Exploration and Geology team
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Undertake logging of exploration and grade control drill core in a timely and accurate manner.
- Supervision of core shed technicians during the sampling process, including sample preparation and the maintenance and monitoring of correct sampling protocols
- Analysis and reporting of assay quality control data and sample turnaround time
- Provide accurate and complete geological data including sampling, assay, logging, and orientation information, required to enable generation of geological models, presentations and reports
- Data entry of geological data including dispatch logs, geological logs, drilling data and assay results including validation of QA/QC data
- Data loading
- Support the execution of the diamond drill programme as per drill designs.
- Administrative support for core loggers including supervision of sample dispatches; support and maintenance of logging systems.
- Assist with regional field programmes including geological outcrop mapping, soil sampling, and geophysics.
- Other activities as required to support the mining and exploration activities of the company
- Participate in development of personal training strategies and undertake appropriate training modules.
- Tertiary Qualification – minimum B Sc. Geology or Earth Science
- Full and current driver licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is required
Experience:
- Minimum 1 Years Post-Graduate experience preferred
Work Knowledge:
- Sound technical skills in Geology
- Mapping and Interpretation skills
- Sampling Theory
- Strong PC skills and computer literacy
