The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations, profitability, and strategic direction of the lawn care and chemical services branch >$7M.   

Education:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, horticulture, or a related field or equivalent experience is required. 
  • Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., in business management or industry-related areas) is a plus.  

Experience:   

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the lawn care, landscaping, or chemical services industry, with at least 5 years in management. 
  • Proven experience in managing large teams, driving revenue growth, and overseeing complex operations. 
  • Experience with P&L management, budgeting, and strategic business planning. 
  • Obtaining and maintaining applicator license(s) by applicable state(s) is required.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.  
  • Proven ability to develop and execute business strategies that drive growth and profitability. 
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and ensuring cost control. 
  • Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and business management software. 
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.

General Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise the management of daily field operations, ensuring all services are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. 
  • Lead, manage, and motivate a team of supervisors and support staff to ensure they meet performance and quality goals.  
  • Oversee the management of scheduling, ensuring optimal route planning and resource utilization to maximize efficiency and minimize operational costs. 
  • Responsible for management of branch inventory (chemicals, tools, and equipment).  
  • Monitor service delivery to ensure that customer expectations are met, resolve service issues promptly, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.  
  • Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the overall customer experience.  
  • Report performance results to senior management and implement corrective actions as necessary. 
  • Develop and manage the branch budget, focusing on cost control and maximizing profitability.  
  • Ensure that the company adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding pesticide use, chemical application, and worker safety. Manage audits and inspections to maintain compliance.
