About the Role

We are looking for a Head of Consumer & Payments to serve as the General Manager of our consumer business, with deep expertise across consumer financial products, specifically lending and payments. This leader will own the full consumer P&L and lifecycle strategy, product, growth, risk, operations, and partnerships while building intuitive, trusted, and scalable payment experiences.

This role is ideal for someone who has built and scaled consumer fintech products at companies like Affirm, Block, Klarna, PayPal, Robinhood, SoFi, or similar, and who thrives at the intersection of product leadership, payments infrastructure, and consumer experience.

What You’ll Do

General Management & Strategy

  • Own the end-to-end consumer business, including vision, strategy, execution, and performance.
  • Set and manage P&L, unit economics, and long-term growth strategy for consumer products. 
  • Define success metrics across acquisition, engagement, performance, retention, and revenue.
  • Drive growth while balancing compliance, risk, and scalability.

Consumer Product Leadership

  • Lead the roadmap for consumer-facing products, including payments, checkout, wallets, lending, and post-purchase experiences.
  • Champion simple, transparent, and trust-first consumer design.
  • Partner cross-functionally to deliver scalable solutions while driving core KPIs.
  • Make high-quality tradeoffs between speed, reliability, cost, and regulatory requirements with a maniacal focus on growth.
  • Leverage AI to deliver value, increase productivity, and drive delightful consumer experiences.

Payments & Platform Expertise

  • Own core payment flows (auth, settlement, funding, reconciliation, disputes, refunds).
  • Drive strategy across payment methods (cards, ACH, wallets, BNPL, alternative rails).
  • Manage relationships with payment processors, networks, issuing banks, and strategic partners.
  • Lead initiatives to improve approval rates, reduce fraud, optimize costs, and increase reliability.

Growth & Go-to-Market

  • Partner with Marketing and Growth teams to drive consumer acquisition and engagement.
  • Optimize onboarding, checkout conversion, and repeat usage through experimentation and data.
  • Identify and launch new consumer use cases, verticals, or geographies.

Leadership & Team Building

  • Build and lead a high-performing leadership team, including hiring, performance management, and creating leverage. 
  • Set a strong culture of ownership, accountability, and consumer obsession.
  • Act as a senior leader across the company, influencing strategy beyond the consumer org.
  • Operate as a trusted thought partner to the Co-CEOs andthe  senior leadership team.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in consumer fintech, payments, or financial services.
  • Proven experience as a GM, business lead, or head of a major product line.
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of payments ecosystems (cards, networks, processors, issuers, fraud, disputes).
  • Track record of building and scaling consumer products used by millions of users generating subscription revenue.

  • You are looking for a low intensity role with high predictability. This role will be demanding and fast paced as you will be launching new products and scaling current ones. 
  • You expect to hire a team of executors on-staff or hire agencies so that you can stay “high level” on strategy.
  • You’re not already using AI tools in your day-to-day workflow.
  • You are averse to feedback or iteration. This will be a high visibility role with direct input from the Co-CEOs and constant iteration to drive better outcomes.
  • You are comfortable with ‘good enough’, we are looking for bar raisers who create a culture of excellence.
