As GDEV expands its credit capabilities, the firm is seeking an Associate to help originate, underwrite, execute, and manage credit investments across corporate, asset-backed, and structured financing solutions. 

Position Overview

GDEV seeks to hire a Pre-MBA Private Credit Associate to join its investment team in New York City. The role offers exposure to all facets of the investment process, including sourcing, structuring, due diligence, financial analysis, and legal documentation. The Associate will work closely with senior investment professionals to evaluate risk-adjusted lending opportunities and develop tailored financing solutions. The role is highly execution oriented and provides meaningful responsibility in a lean, entrepreneurial environment with opportunities to grow into a senior investing role. 

What You Will Do at GDEV
Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new credit investment opportunities across the sustainable infrastructure and energy transition landscape, including corporate loans, warehouse facilities, preferred equity, and other structured capital solutions
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to assess downside protection, leverage capacity, covenant compliance, and expected returns
  • Conduct credit underwriting, including analysis of business plans, contractual cash flows, collateral packages, capital structures, and sponsor support
  • Coordinate diligence processes with third parties including legal counsel, technical advisors, lenders, tax equity providers, and consultants
  • Prepare screening materials, investment memoranda, and portfolio monitoring updates for senior management and investment committees
  • Assist in structuring transaction terms, negotiating credit agreements, and managing deal execution timelines from initial evaluation through closing
  • Monitor existing credit investments, track performance against underwriting assumptions, and proactively identify potential risks
  • Maintain valuation models and support quarterly portfolio reporting and internal analytics

Requirements

What You Will Bring to GDEV

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier accredited four-year college or university
  • 2–4 years’ experience in private credit, private equity, investment banking, infrastructure investing, renewable energy development, project finance, or other relevant lending roles
  • Industry experience in real assets / industrials, with preference for expertise specifically in power and renewable energy
  • Advanced Excel knowledge and ability to build and understand complex financial models
  • Proficiency reviewing and understanding legal contracts
  • Sound judgment: ability to assess risk-adjusted returns, synthesize complex information, and make investment recommendations, often with incomplete data
  • Strong written and verbal communication: ability to distill complex financial and operational analysis into clear, compelling investment narratives for senior stakeholders
  • Intellectual curiosity and entrepreneurial drive: passion for the energy transition and a builder’s mentality suited to a fast-growing platform

GDEV  provides a competitive compensation and benefits package.   Base Annual Salary range information serves as a general guideline.  The base annual salary range for this position in the New York City Metro Area is $135,000  to $ 160,000.  Individual base annual salaries are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
