Gas system inspectors

Job Summary:

BlackStone eIT is looking for experienced Gas System Inspectors to ensure the safety, compliance, and efficient operation of gas systems. The role involves inspecting gas pipelines, distribution networks, and related infrastructure to identify potential hazards, assess condition, and recommend necessary maintenance or repairs. Inspectors will work closely with maintenance teams and regulatory agencies to uphold industry standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections of gas pipelines, valves, meters, and distribution systems.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and industry safety standards and regulations.
• Identify safety risks, leaks, corrosion, and operational issues, and report findings.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to facilitate repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Assist in emergency response and incident investigations related to gas systems.
• Stay current on evolving gas system technologies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience in inspecting gas systems, pipelines, and equipment.
• • Internal gas piping systems, regulators, meters, risers, and emergency shutoff valves.
• • Verification of leak detection devices, ventilation provisions, and pressure testing results.
• • Site inspections during installation, commissioning, periodic audits, and incident investigations.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Gas Technology, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of gas safety codes, standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficient in identifying and assessing risks associated with gas systems.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Certifications related to gas system inspection or safety are a plus.
