About the Company

Our client is building an AI-powered voice receptionist platform for real-world B2B operations. The product manages inbound calls, booking workflows, pricing rules, and payments for service-based businesses. Currently in pilot phase, the platform is preparing for broader rollout. The engineering team is intentionally small, senior-leaning, and values execution quality, ownership, and practical problem-solving over heavy process.

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Full-Stack Engineer to translate loosely defined product requirements into production-ready features. You will work closely with the CTO and a small engineering team to improve platform reliability, execution velocity, and code quality. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, enjoy ownership, and take pride in shipping features that customers actively use. The work is cross-functional, execution-heavy, and requires strong problem-solving and practical implementation skills.

Your Impact

  • Deliver high-quality features from concept to production with minimal oversight.
  • Contribute directly to platform stability, reducing issues in active customer pilots.
  • Improve overall code quality, maintainability, and execution efficiency.
  • Support real customer workflows by integrating AI and voice logic reliably.
  • Enhance operational processes and backend/frontend integration across the platform.

Core Responsibilities

Engineering Execution & Ownership – 40%

  • Translate high-level product requirements into technical designs and actionable Jira tickets.
  • Own features end-to-end, delivering clean, maintainable production code.
  • Review pull requests and enforce high code quality standards.
  • Document technical decisions and communicate trade-offs clearly.

Backend-Focused Full-Stack Development – 30%

  • Build and maintain backend services using Python and modern frameworks (FastAPI-style).
  • Design and evolve relational database schemas and migrations.
  • Contribute to internal frontend features using React / Next.js as needed.

AI & Voice Workflow Integration – 20%

  • Implement real customer workflows using AI and voice tools.
  • Connect LLM behavior, prompts, and tool logic to application code.
  • Focus on reliability, correctness, and production-ready implementation rather than experimental research.

Infrastructure & Integrations – 5%

  • Support application deployment and operational reliability.
  • Contribute incremental improvements to existing infrastructure (e.g., Vercel).
  • Integrate and maintain third-party services such as voice providers and payment systems.

Pilot Support & Stabilization – 5%

  • Triage issues from active customer pilots.
  • Identify whether issues stem from product gaps or engineering defects.
  • Stabilize pilot workflows while the core platform continues evolving.

Requirements

Must-Haves (Required)

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proven ability to own ambiguous problems and deliver production-ready solutions.
  • Experience shipping and maintaining live production systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and modern backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI).
  • Experience with relational databases and schema evolution.
  • Knowledge of modern frontend frameworks (React or similar).
  • Excellent written communication and ability to document decisions clearly.
  • High learning agility with an execution-oriented mindset.

Nice-to-Haves (Preferred)

  • Experience supporting early-stage products or live customer pilots.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar).
  • Exposure to LLM-powered features, AI agents, or voice-based applications.
  • Experience integrating with third-party or enterprise systems.
