Fulfillment Center Procurement Specialist

Runwise is looking for a highly motivated, results-oriented Fulfillment Center Procurement Specialist who is eager to learn.

**This position sits in our fulfillment center five days a week located in Long Island City, Queens. Please only apply if you are able to commute to this location.

Runwise’s unique hardware and software service significantly reduces energy usage, substantially lowering costs and carbon output. As of today, Runwise’s technology takes the equivalent of 100,000 cars worth of carbon emissions off the road each year.

THE ROLE

Our Long Island City Fulfillment Center is the operational heart of Runwise, supporting thousands of building installations nationwide. As our Fulfillment Center Procurement Specialist you’ll ensure the right materials reach the right place at the right time, while building systems and processes that make our fulfillment operations more efficient, scalable, and data-driven.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving operational problems with data, building processes, and being hands-on in a fast-paced environment. You will be equally comfortable analyzing inventory trends in spreadsheets or picking and packing kits in the fulfillment center.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support daily fulfillment operations, including picking, packing, receiving, staging install and service materials
  • Prepare technician install kits and manage van stock replenishment
  • Maintain an organized, efficient fulfillment center environment
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy
  • Coordinate outgoing shipments to technicians and field teams
  • Analyze inventory usage, installation schedules, and service demand to forecast parts and equipment needs
  • Manage procurement and vendor communication to ensure consistent product availability
  • Track purchasing trends, spending patterns, and supplier performance
  • Partner with our internal finance team in addition to external vendors and manufacturers to support procurement planning and product availability
  • Use operational data to identify inefficiencies and improve procurement processes
  • Build and maintain tracking mechanisms to ensure the right products are available when needed

Problems you will help Solve:

  • How do we forecast inventory demand as Runwise scales across thousands of buildings and across multiple cities?
  • How do we prevent stockouts while avoiding overstocking expensive inventory?
  • How do we build dashboards and tracking systems to give  Supply Chain teams real-time visibility into inventory metrics?

Who you are:

  • Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working with inventory data, procurement information, and operational metrics
  • Excited to build processes and systems in a growing startup environment
  • Equally comfortable analyzing spreadsheets and lifting boxes in the fulfillment center
  • Strong communicator who can collaborate across finance, operations, supply chain, logistics, and vendor partners
  • Highly organized with a strong sense of ownership

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in inventory management, fulfillment operations, procurement, and/or supply chain
  • Experience working with inventory tracking systems, spreadsheets, process automation, and operational data
  • Ability to lift and move materials and equipment in a fulfillment center environment
  • Comfortable using hand tools and ladders safely
  • Ability to work onsite at our Long Island City Fulfillment Center and work overtime hours when needed
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred: some college or operations certification)

Salary (Hourly Rate): $30.00-$40.00 (Based on experience)
