FTL Transportation & Operations Manager

We are looking for an experienced FTL Transportation & Operations Manager to lead end-to-end freight transportation operations across assigned geographies while ensuring operational efficiency, service reliability, cost optimization, and seamless stakeholder coordination. This role is responsible for managing hub-and-spoke transportation networks, fleet availability, dispatch planning, transporter relationships, shipment visibility, and SLA-driven execution across large-scale logistics operations. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in FTL operations, vendor management, transportation planning, and control tower operations with the ability to manage high-pressure logistics environments. You will work closely with internal teams, transport partners, warehouses, and customers to ensure smooth freight movement, improve operational KPIs, and drive scalable logistics processes. Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end FTL transportation operations across assigned regions and lane networks.
• Ensure vehicle placement and dispatch alignment against shipment schedules and customer requirements.
• Monitor fleet utilization, turnaround time, transit adherence, and transportation efficiency metrics.
• Build and manage transporter and vendor relationships across transportation networks.
• Conduct freight negotiations, capacity planning, and transporter allocation activities.
• Drive shipment visibility and proactive exception management through GPS and TMS platforms.
• Monitor operational KPIs including OTIF, freight cost, detention, transit TAT, and fleet utilization.
• Handle operational escalations, delay management, and root-cause analysis for service failures.
• Coordinate with warehouse, procurement, customer service, finance, and sales teams for seamless execution.
• Develop SOPs, governance mechanisms, reporting dashboards, and operational MIS reports.
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations, documentation, insurance, permits, and safety standards.
• Lead regional transportation teams and support operational scalability initiatives.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 6–12 years of experience in transportation and logistics operations with strong FTL exposure.
• Strong expertise in fleet management, dispatch planning, transporter sourcing, and hub-and-spoke operations.
• Hands-on experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), GPS tracking, and shipment visibility tools.
• Strong understanding of Pan-India transportation networks, freight operations, and logistics planning.
• Proficiency in freight analytics, Excel, Power BI, and operational reporting.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to manage operational KPIs and improve efficiency.
• Ability to handle high-pressure logistics environments and resolve operational escalations effectively.
• Strong execution focus, process orientation, and problem-solving capability.
