PVM, Inc. is seeking a FSR Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring stability and reliability across production data workflows that support our customers’ missions. You’ll monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize pipelines to ensure that the right data is delivered accurately and on time. When challenges arise, you’ll be among the first to respond—diagnosing issues, coordinating resolutions, and working toward lasting solutions.

 

As a FSR Engineer at PVM, you will collaborate closely with technical and business teams to minimize risk, improve performance, and strengthen system reliability. You’ll take a proactive approach to data health by building monitoring tools, installing automated alerts, and implementing best practices for incident response. Whether independently resolving issues or working alongside teammates, you will be instrumental in keeping mission-critical systems stable and efficient.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of PVM’s data solutions and customer workflows.
  • Monitor, diagnose, and resolve production pipeline issues while preventing future incidents.
  • Collaborate with customer-facing teams to improve the scalability and dependability of production data pipelines.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting systems to track data health and pipeline performance.
  • Identify key sources of reliability risk and recommend improvements to reduce operational overhead.
  • Provide clear documentation and incident reports to share lessons learned and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Partner with engineering teams by sharing user feedback to drive product enhancements.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to coordinate responses to mission-critical incidents and minimize customer impact.
    • Note: Active work outside of business hours is not generally required. However, during assigned on-call rotations, availability is required to respond in the event of a critical outage. After completing two on-call weekends, one day of leave will be provided.

 

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship (required by U.S. Government contract).
  • Active Secret Clearance (minimum) with eligibility and willingness to obtain Top Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, C++, Python, JavaScript).
  • Experience performing root cause analysis and documenting lessons learned from production incidents.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced environments that require creative problem-solving.

 

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with parallel data processing and optimization of Spark jobs.
  • Experience developing or supporting production data pipelines.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues in a clear and approachable way.
