Role Overview:
We are looking for a Frontend Engineer to help build and evolve Parallelz’s core web experience. You will own meaningful parts of a production Next.js application used across mobile and desktop, translating product intent and Figma designs into fast, reliable, and elegant user experiences.
This role sits at the intersection of product, design, and engineering. You will not just implement tickets - you will help shape scope, identify tradeoffs, and raise the bar for frontend quality, performance, and maintainability.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain our core frontend using Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS
- Own features end-to-end from concept and design review through production rollout
- Translate Figma designs into high-fidelity, responsive interfaces across mobile and desktop
- Implement and optimize Server-Side Rendering to achieve fast load times and strong Core Web Vitals
- Integrate frontend systems with backend APIs and third-party services, including Firebase Auth
- Design reusable components and patterns that scale with the product
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend to refine scope and execution
- Surface technical tradeoffs early and help guide product decisions with clear engineering judgment
- Turn ambiguous product ideas into concrete technical requirements and acceptance criteria
Requirements
Required:
- 2+ years of professional experience building modern web applications
- Strong proficiency with TypeScript, React, and Next.js
- Hands-on experience with Tailwind CSS and component-driven UI development
- Solid understanding of Server-Side Rendering and frontend performance optimization
- Experience integrating authentication and backend APIs, including Firebase Auth
- Strong code quality instincts around readability, reuse, and long-term maintainability
- Product-minded engineering judgment with a bias toward pragmatic, high-quality outcomes
- Clear communicator who collaborates well across disciplines
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with shadcn/ui or similar modern component libraries
- Familiarity with Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics
- Experience with end-to-end testing tools such as Cypress or Playwright
- Exposure to Amplify or similar deployment pipelines
- A track record of influencing product direction through technical insight, not just implementation
How We Work:
- We value speed, but not at the expense of quality or user experience
- Engineers are expected to think in first principles, not just follow specs
- Product, design, and engineering collaborate tightly and iterate quickly
- We prefer simple, composable solutions over clever abstractions
- Ownership and accountability matter more than titles or ego
