Frontend Engineer (Core Banking)

As a licensed financial company with principal membership with card schemes, we specialize in global payments and providing businesses with multi-currency accounts.

About this role:
As a Frontend Engineer, you will join our Core Banking domain and help build scalable, reliable frontend solutions that power critical banking services. You will work in a small, collaborative team alongside experienced engineers, contributing to new features, improving existing functionality, and maintaining high engineering standards.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving real problems, are proactive in learning team standards and best practices, and are comfortable taking ownership of their work while collaborating closely with backend engineers and product teams.

Reporting to: Core Banking Domain Lead

What you will do:  

• Design, develop, and maintain frontend components and features using Next.js, React, and other modern web technologies.
• Collaborate with designers to implement responsive and visually appealing user interfaces that enhance the overall user experience.
• Work closely with backend developers to integrate frontend components with server-side APIs and databases.
• Work towards the launch of a new product that will generate new verticals to the company.
• Optimize application performance and scalability through code optimization, caching strategies, and performance monitoring.
• Write clean, modular, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to ensure code quality and consistency.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in front-end development and share knowledge with the team.

What we need:

• 3+ years of professional experience in frontend web development.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React and Next.js.
• Experience writing frontend tests (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, or similar tools).
• Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
• Understanding of frontend performance optimisation and browser compatibility.
• Familiarity with secure frontend development practices.
• Experience using Git and working within collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and communicate clearly in English.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker.
• Experience working in FinTech, financial services, or other security-focused industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Hiring Process:

• TA Interview – A 30–40 minute conversation to assess role fit, experience, and motivation.
• Technical Interview – A 60-minute deep dive into your expertise, achievements, and alignment with the role.
• Home Assignment – A practical coding exercise focused on core frontend functionality, designed to take 1–2 hours and submitted within 5 business days.
