Role Overview 
We’re seeking a seasoned outreach professional to join Packt on a freelance basis to help us attract and engage high-status tech experts for our publishing and learning products. Once successfully established, there is scope to develop into a strategic partnership with long-term goals. 
 
This is an apex acquisition role – focused on identifying and engaging the most influential voices in tech: founders, lead engineers, established authors, and other respected thought leaders. You’ll need the credibility, strategic thinking, and network to connect with experts. 

You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams to shape outreach strategy, lead expert engagement efforts, and convert top-tier prospects into long-term collaborators.  

 
Key Responsibilities 

  • Strategically identify and engage respected tech thought leaders. 
  • Ensure a consistent focus on high-calibre, influential individuals whose content has the potential for outsized reach 
  • Develop and pitch publishing opportunities that align with their brand and career goals. 
  • Convert warm leads into active author conversations. 
  • Leverage personal networks across US, UK, and Europe for targeted outreach. 
  • Provide evidence of impact: signed authors, active discussions, published names. 

 

Who You Are 

  • A seasoned professional with 10+ years in publishing, elearning, or tech business development. 
  • Strong network and reputation among industry experts and communities. 
  • Proven experience in converting top of funnel experts into content creators or partners. 
  • Confident communicator with a consultative approach.
