Fractional Head of Legal (3 days per week)
At TheyDo, we’re building the platform that makes customer journeys the most powerful business tool there is. As we grow, the complexity of our legal landscape grows with us. That’s not a blocker, it’s an opportunity. You’ll make sure it scales with clarity, speed, and confidence.
As our Fractional Head of Legal, you’ll own and shape how legal works at TheyDo. You’ll bring structure where it’s needed, stay pragmatic where it matters, and help the business move faster with the right safeguards in place.
Role Details:
Employment Type: Fractional, 3 days per week to cover maternity leave
Start: June 2026
End: February 2027 (to ensure a smooth handover with Jo, our Head of Legal)
Legal Team: You'll be working alongside a full-time Legal Counsel
What you’ll do:
Lead our legal function end-to-end, from day-to-day contracting to long-term strategy
Refine and scale legal processes that support a fast-moving product and sales team
Act as the primary go-to person for all internal legal questions
Partner across the business
Work closely with Sales, Product, and Leadership to unblock deals and decisions
Translate legal complexity into clear, actionable guidance
Enable teams to self-serve where possible with templates and playbooks
Manage external relationships
Collaborate with external legal partners to extend capacity and expertise
Ensure smooth communication, clear briefs, and efficient execution
Prepare for what’s next
Maintain and improve our global contract registry
Stay on top of relevant regulatory developments
Make legal faster and smarter
Use technology and AI to streamline workflows and reduce manual work
Identify opportunities to automate, simplify, and improve
What we’re looking for
Qualified lawyer with strong foundational legal training
Experience across both law firm and in-house environments
Background in SaaS, tech
Comfortable working across international jurisdictions
Strong commercial mindset, you know when to push and when to move
Clear communicator who can make complex topics easy to understand
Proactive, self-directed, and comfortable working asynchronously
Interest in using technology and AI to improve legal operations
