About Remy

What You’ll Do

• Own and evolve backend and ML-driven features across our Python-based services and ML infrastructure. 
• Design, deploy, and fine-tune machine learning models on GPUs, supporting both training and inference workflows. 
• Work hands-on with model architecture, including fine-tuning existing models and iterating on performance and accuracy. 
• Build and integrate ML pipelines into the product, including document processing, PDF parsing, RAG workflows, document intelligence, and automated submittal review. 
• Develop and maintain APIs, data models, and database schemas (PostgreSQL) that support ML-backed product features. 
• Create and maintain evaluation pipelines to measure model performance and guide supervised training and supervised fine-tuning. 
• Collaborate closely with Product and Design to translate user and customer feedback into scalable backend and ML solutions. 
• Work directly with customers and internal teams to understand real construction workflows and ensure models perform in production. 
• Write clean, well-tested code; participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and best-practice development. 
• Be an owner: help shape architecture decisions, tooling, and our engineering culture.

What We’re Looking For

•  5+ years of professional experience in backend and/or machine learning engineering; early-stage or 0→1 startup experience strongly preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience building production backend services.
• Hands-on experience with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow, including training, fine-tuning, and deploying models.
• Experience working with transformer-based models and modern deep learning architectures.
• Solid understanding of supervised training and supervised fine-tuning, including dataset preparation and evaluation.
• Experience deploying models on GPU infrastructure, with attention to performance and scalability.
• Experience designing and integrating APIs that support ML-powered features.
• Familiarity with deploying services and models in cloud environments (e.g., Google Cloud Run or similar).
• Experience with LLM workflows, RAG, and NLP systems.
• Full-stack awareness - comfortable collaborating across the stack and understanding how backend and ML systems interface with product and UI (without owning frontend development).
• Construction tech passion: curious about submittals, workflows, and the on-site realities of construction teams.
• Collaborative spirit: excellent communicator, low-ego, and eager to learn.
