They are building an operating system to orchestrate work across all tools and company functions. By understanding human decision-making and actions, their system aims to enhance effectiveness, enabling individuals to focus on problem-solving rather than tool management.

Our client is a pioneering tech company at the forefront of blockchain and AI innovations. We are in search of a Founding Backend Engineer who is eager to build and scale groundbreaking solutions, and join us on this exciting journey as we expand our team. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely and lead critical backend development efforts.

Responsibilities:

As a Founding Backend Engineer focused on AI, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining the critical server-side infrastructure that powers our cutting-edge AI-driven solutions and applications. Your expertise will be key to ensuring the seamless operation and optimal performance of these intelligent systems. You will work in close collaboration with our AI scientists, product designers, and frontend developers, translating their needs into robust and scalable technical realities, and thus directly influencing the success of our AI products.

In addition, your duties will include:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and reliable backend systems specifically tailored for AI applications.
• Architecting and building high-performance APIs to facilitate seamless integration between AI models, user-facing applications, and other services.
• Ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of our software solutions.
• Collaborating closely with AI engineers to optimize the platform for AI model deployment, data processing, and inference.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of the platform, focusing on performance enhancements and scalability to support future AI advancements.
• Potentially providing technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers as the team grows, promoting best practices and high coding standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience with a strong emphasis on backend development.
• Deep expertise in Python with a proven track record of building scalable and robust platforms.
• Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and building cloud-native applications.
• Strong understanding of software architecture principles relevant to scalable and high-performance systems, particularly in the context of AI applications.
• Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining backend systems that directly integrate with AI models and algorithms.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.

Nice to have:

• A master's or PhD degree in a quantitative discipline.
• A decent understanding of React and experience building efficient backends for web and mobile applications that consume AI services.
• Experience working at a scale-up company.
