About Sprinter Health: At Sprinter Health, our mission is reimagining how people access care by bringing it directly to their homes. Nearly 30% of patients in the U.S. skip preventive or chronic care simply because they can’t get to a doctor’s office. For many, the ER becomes their first touchpoint with the healthcare system—driving over $300B in avoidable costs every year. By using the same technologies that power leading marketplace and last-mile platforms, we deliver care where people are—especially those who need it most. So far, we’ve supported more than 2 million patients across 22 states, completed 180,000+ in-home visits, and maintained a 92 NPS. Our team of clinicians, technologists, and operators has raised over $125M from investors including a16z, General Catalyst, GV, and Accel, and we have multi-year runway. About the Role We’re looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to sit at the intersection of engineering, partners, and product. This role is ideal for a senior software engineer who has spent years building production systems and now wants to work closer to customers—without leaving hands-on engineering behind. You’ll work directly with strategic partners, operators, and internal product teams to deliver high-impact solutions quickly, while ensuring that bespoke work feeds back into scalable, reusable platform capabilities. This is not a support or solutions-only role: you’ll write real production code, influence core architecture, and help shape the Partner Engineering roadmap. This role requires someone who came up through a mid–senior SWE track and is comfortable operating in ambiguity, translating messy real-world constraints into durable software. Office Location:  We are a hybrid company based in the Bay Area with offices in both San Francisco & Menlo Park. We care about work-life balance, and understand that there will be times where flexibility is needed. What you will do:
  • Embed with strategic partners to understand technical, operational, and data workflows
  • Build backend and full-stack systems that power partner integrations and patient access
  • Translate bespoke partner needs into scalable, reusable platform features
  • Rapidly prototype and ship solutions while maintaining production-grade quality
  • Own partner-facing APIs, data flows, and onboarding integrations end to end
  • Collaborate closely with product, ops, data, and clinical teams to launch real-world solutions
  • Feed partner learnings back into product strategy and platform architecture
  • Act as a technical owner for complex integrations from discovery through rollout
  • What have you done:
  • 5+ years as a backend or full-stack software engineer shipping production systems
  • Led projects from architecture and design through implementation and launch
  • Built or integrated with external APIs, data pipelines, or partner systems
  • Worked in fast-moving startup environments where ambiguity, speed, and ownership were required
  • Partnered cross-functionally with product, ops, or non-technical stakeholders
  • Written clean, maintainable code while balancing short-term delivery with long-term scalability
