To support this effort, we are building an AI Enablement function focused on accelerating productivity across the entire company — including both engineering and business teams. This initiative helps teams adopt AI responsibly while translating real operational and engineering workflows into practical AI-augmented solutions. We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer (Internal) to help Aircall scale the practical use of AI across teams. This role sits at the intersection of technology, operations, and internal productivity. Your mission will be to work directly with teams across the company to identify operational bottlenecks and implement AI-enabled workflows that improve how work gets done. You will collaborate with teams including Engineering, Legal, HR, IT, Finance, Operations, and Billing to translate real problems into practical solutions using AI tools, automation, and integrations. While many projects will focus on business workflows, the role will also support engineering productivity initiatives, helping teams leverage AI tools within development workflows, documentation, automation, and internal tooling. This is not a traditional product engineering role, but it requires strong technical thinking and hands-on implementation of AI tools and workflow automation. You will also contribute to shaping AI governance, tooling standards, and adoption practices across the company. What You'll Do:
  • Embed & Solve: Partner directly with departments (Legal, HR, Finance) to identify manual friction and deploy practical AI solutions that solve real-world problems.
  • Build & Prototype: Rapidly design and implement AI-enabled workflows, including automated document generation, prompt-driven tools, and internal system integrations.
  • Scale Engineering Velocity: Collaborate with developers to adopt AI coding assistants, automate documentation, and reduce friction in the engineering lifecycle.
  • Own the AI Stack: Manage the enterprise AI toolkit, overseeing vendor selection, cost monitoring, security compliance, and access provisioning.
  • Drive & Measure Adoption: Lead internal workshops and create playbooks to scale AI literacy, ensuring every implementation results in measurable time savings and reduced manual effort.
  • What We're Looking For:
  • Pragmatic Engineer: You are a builder who prioritizes shipping functional tools over theoretical research. You enjoy deconstructing messy operational challenges into clean, technical solutions.
  • AI & Automation Proficiency: You have a deep understanding of LLM architectures, prompt engineering, and the AI tooling ecosystem. You’re comfortable working with APIs and middleware to bridge disparate systems.
  • Technical Consultant Mindset: You can bridge the gap between non-technical stakeholders and complex workflows. You’re adept at gathering requirements and operating autonomously in ambiguous environments.
  • Outcome-Driven: You focus on measurable impact. Success for you is defined by reduced latency in manual processes, high-accuracy automation, and quantifiable time savings for the team.
  • Systems Fluency: Whether your background is in Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Tech Ops, you bring a product-oriented approach to scaling AI and internal infrastructure.
