Due to continuous growth and expansion, Pharmathen offers a great opportunity for career development and is seeking to attract a Formulation & Process Development Research Scientist for the Innovative Formulations department to be based at our Metamorfosi premises.

As a Formulation & Process Development Research Scientist you will Design the experiments on new Formulation and Process developments (LAI and/or LATTs), supervise the execution of lab trials and participate in Scale up batch manufacturing.

More particularly:

What you’ll do:

• Contribute on the process transfer activities from small to industrial scale
• Participate in the large scale batch manufacturing and process validation batches
• Participate in the execution of SAT, OQ, PQ of new lab & industrial equipment
• Participate on the preparation of trial plans (lab & scale up)
• Conduct laboratory experiments to develop and optimize formulations and process for long acting injectable products (i.e., microparticles, suspensions, gels, etc.)
• Support the development of robust and scalable manufacturing processes.
• Assist in designing experimental protocols under the guidance of senior scientists.
• Record experimental data accurately and in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) or internal quality systems.
• Summarize findings and prepare technical reports, study summaries, and presentations.
• Maintain laboratory notebooks and ensure traceability of all research activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (i.e., Analytical Development, Quality Assurance, Technology Transfer, Device, Production).

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Material Science or other relevant science
• Relevant experience in development and manufacturing of sterile injectables and sustained release parenteral depots (i.e., microparticles, nanosuspensions, sol-gels) would be considered as an asset.
