Our employer partner is currently looking to hire a Food Service Manager to work at an educational institution located in the Kitchener/Waterloo region! The successful candidate will be skilled in organizing, planning, directing, controlling, and providing leadership to a team of unionized staff.

Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring the daily operation of the campus dining hall runs smoothly
Responsible for operations, cleanliness, service, greeting customers and supervising 35-40 staff
Schedules dining hall staff, calls replacements, verifies time cards, assists with inventory
Conducts staff huddles, Health and Safety audits, ensures food safety and sanitation is upheld
Trains, develops and coaches unionized staff ensuring compliance with Collective Agreement
Develops and motivates supervisory staff to attain proper standards of performance
Qualifications:
Diploma in Hospitality Management or Food and Beverage Management is preferred
2+ years’ experience in a supervisory or management role in a high-volume setting is an asset
Previous experience managing or working in a unionized setting is an asset
Thorough understanding of food safety, food handling and sanitation standards
Solid communication and people skills to direct teams in daily operations
Must be organized, detail oriented, able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel is required for administrative duties
Must be available to work Monday – Friday shift from 10AM-6PM or 11AM-7PM
