Food & Beverage Supervisor

As a Food & Beverage Supervisor at Britannic Explorer, A Belmond Train, you are part of a team that is responsible for the restaurant and bar operations aboard the luxury train. In this role, you will ensure an exceptional Food & Beverage service is provided to our guests. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, this is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual with a passion for excellence and storytelling in travel, a strong cultural awareness and an unswerving approach to maintaining standards. If you’re looking to develop your skills and be part of a legacy of luxury, this is your moment.

Primary Responsibilities Include: 

• This is a seasonal role which runs from March to November in 2026.
• Supporting the Restaurant Manager in the smooth day-to-day operation of both the restaurant and bar aboard the train.
• Overseeing bar operations, including cocktail and beverage preparation, presentation, and service in line with brand standards.
• Managing guests requirements and advising on food and beverage pairings, including wines, spirits, and signature cocktails.
• Taking guests’ food and drink orders with confidence, accuracy, and a high level of engagement.
• Ensuring LQA standards are consistently met and maintained across restaurant and bar service.
• Ensuring all F&B and bar cleaning procedures are completed in line with Standard Operating Procedures and correctly reported.
• Monitoring, maintaining, and replenishing bar stock levels, including wines, spirits, mixers, and garnishes, as well as operational supplies such as glassware and bar equipment.
• Assisting with stock rotation, waste control, and inventory checks.
• Leading by example during service, supporting and guiding colleagues to deliver seamless, luxury-level bar and beverage experiences.

Requirements

What You Bring: 

• Previous experience in a similar supervisory role, preferably within the luxury hospitality industry, with strong exposure to bar operations. A hospitality qualification is an advantage.
• Extensive food and beverage knowledge, including wines, spirits, cocktails, and premium drinks service.
• Proven ability to deliver refined, engaging bar service while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced, high-end environment.
• Demonstrated creativity and innovation, particularly in enhancing guest experience through beverage service and storytelling.
• Strong organisational, administrative, and customer-service skills, with attention to detail across restaurant and bar standards.
• Confidence in stock control, ordering processes, and maintaining high presentation standards within bar areas.
• Working knowledge of MS Office.
