Food & Beverage Steward - Bar

As a Food & Beverage Bar Steward at Britannic Explorer, a Belmond Train, you will be an integral part of a team delivering world-class hospitality in a unique, luxury setting. Primary Responsibilities Include: 
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic bartender to join our seasonal team, providing exceptional service to our guests from March to November 2026.

• Preparing and serving a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wine, and spirits. 

• Serving pre-lunch and dinner drinks, canapés, afternoon tea beverages, and ‘welcome back’ drinks when guests return from off-board excursions.  

• Maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, including washing glassware and bar equipment.

• Preparing bar mise en place and ensuring all supplies are ready for service. 

• Providing knowledgeable recommendations about drinks, wine pairings and the offerings available onboard.

• Assisting with general onboard hospitality duties, including greeting guests and supporting operational departments as required.

Requirements

What You Bring: 

• Applicants must have eligibility to work in the UK. 

• 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role as a bartender or bar person, ideally within the luxury hospitality industry. 

• Knowledge of drink preparation, mixology and wine service.

• Hospitality qualification an advantage. 

• Understanding of COSHH and safe handling of cleaning products. 

• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-end hospitality environment.
