Fluid Conveyance Sales Manager

Drive the strategy and execution of Fluid Conveyance sales initiatives for the Industrial Fluid Power Strategic Business Unit while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

SunSource and its family of companies represent 200+ locations and 3,000+ employees making up one of North America’s leading value-add industrial distribution companies.  We provide customers with products and solutions within Fluid Power, Fluid Process, Fluid Conveyance, General Industrial Components, and Industrial Service & Repair. www.sun-source.com Based in the Houston or Dallas area, this role is responsible for driving the strategy, development, and execution of Fluid Conveyance sales initiatives for the Industrial Fluid Power Strategic Business Unit (SBU). The Fluid Conveyance Sales Manager will collaborate closely with SunSource business units across the organization and work jointly with key supplier partners to generate revenue and develop new product and service opportunities. This is a Sales focused role with extensive time in front of customers assisting Account Managers developing new business. Essential Functions
  • Lead Fluid Conveyance sales strategy, business development, and product training for Industrial Fluid Power sales teams.
  • Communicate goals, objectives, and initiatives effectively to internal stakeholders.
  • Joint sales calls with Account Manager team to develop and close opportunities.
  • Develop detailed analyses of industries, customers, applications, and products.
  • Create and articulate comprehensive strategic marketing and market-penetration plans.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of Fluid Power and Fluid Conveyance markets and related business strategies.
  • Influence and align cross-functional teams through collaborative, consensus-building skills.
  • Deliver measurable results by identifying opportunities, setting goals, and driving profitable growth.
  • Participate in regular cadence calls, as well as monthly and quarterly business reviews.

  • Key Strategic Experience
  • Developing OEM/MRO relationships at the executive level.
  • Aligning SunSource product offerings with OEM/MRO equipment and applications.
  • Defining and executing strategies to win new business.
  • Building strong relationships that foster teamwork, engagement, and trust.
  • Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or certification in Fluid Power.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Mobile Fluid Power and/or Fluid Conveyance markets in roles such as Outside Sales, Project Specialist, or Product Manager.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, analyze customer requirements, and prepare complex technical sales quotations.
  • In-depth knowledge of bid and proposal processes for OEM and large-scale customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems.
