Fixed Assets Tax Manager

Summary The Fixed Assets Tax Manager, manages tax fixed asset schedules for provision and compliance purposes. The Manager ensures accurate reporting and reconciliation of fixed asset deferred taxes for Sarbanes–Oxley (SOX) compliance and provides timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders. The Manager assists in creating a positive team environment and ensuring the completion of day-to-day operations in the Corporate Accounting Department. This position requires the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality, precision, and integrity from an individual who is responsible and dependable. Must pass a Criminal Background Check. Education:  Bachelor’s Degree Education Details:  Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Certification:  Yes Certification Details:  CPA certification. Years of Experience:  Minimum five (5) years of tax fixed assets experience, plus experience in a supervisory capacity. •Thorough knowledge of fixed-asset-related tax technical rules and GAAP. •Strong Excel skills. •SAGE Premier Depreciation or other tax-fixed-asset software. •Corporate tax fixed-assets experience. •Strong understanding of ASC 740 as it relates to fixed assets. Job Duties •Manage tax depreciation and capitalization for federal and state purposes. •Maintain and reconcile tax vs. book fixed asset differences. •Document §168(k), ADS, and MACRS positions. •Analyze asset dispositions, impairments, and retirements. •Support M&A, reorganizations, and integrations from a tax fixed-assets perspective. •Support and/or lead cost segregation studies, as needed. •Support ASC 740 calculations related to fixed-assets deferred taxes. •Partner with the provision team on true-ups and rate impacts. •Respond to IRS/state audit inquiries related to depreciation and capitalization. •Partner closely with Accounting, FP&A, Fleet, and IT teams. •Translate technical tax rules into operational guidance for internal teams. •Improve processes, controls, and documentation. •Manage and mentor team members. •Ensure any direct reports understand and apply our Customer Commitment and customer service standards to their daily responsibilities as appropriate.  •Model Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and when providing leadership direction. •Other duties as assigned. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
