Teleo
Firmware Engineering Internship/Co-op (Summer/Fall 2026)
TLDR
Join a team building technology with real-world impact while working on cutting-edge autonomous robots and engineering complex systems at the intersection of hardware, software, robotics, and AI.
Teleo, a Havoc company, is a robotics company that transforms construction heavy equipment, including loaders, dozers, excavators, and trucks, into autonomous robots for commercial and defense applications. Our technology enables a single operator to supervise and control multiple machines simultaneously, delivering significant productivity gains while improving operator safety and comfort.
Teleo was founded by a team of experienced technology leaders who previously led the development of Lyft's Self-Driving Car program and Google Street View. Teleo recently announced its merger with Havoc AI, a fast-growing defense technology company developing coordinated fleets of autonomous maritime vessels.
This is a unique opportunity to join a team building technology with real-world impact. You will work on cutting-edge 100,000-pound autonomous robots and engineer complex systems at the intersection of hardware, software, robotics, and AI.
About the Role
As a Firmware Engineer, you will be working with a small team to implement, test, and validate on-board firmware used for Teleo's Supervised Autonomy.
With a high attention to detail, you will be involved in the testing, validation, and deployment of firmware on proprietary Teleo ECUs. Interfacing daily with software, and hardware engineers, you will be directly involved in the launch of new heavy equipment supported by Teleo.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in developing high-quality firmware on microcontrollers with a clear safety driven passion for robotics .
Minimum Qualifications
Undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science in progress
Proven experience bringing up PCBAs, µC and developing algorithms on RTOS
Strong interest in embedded firmware development for safety-critical application
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in board hardware bring-up
History of contributing to projects in C/C++/Rust/Python ideally using software development tools (such as GitHub)
Strong experience working with embedded microcontrollers (Ti, NXP, STM, ESP...)
Experience with protocols/interfaces such as I2C, CAN, PWM, SPI
Experience with Linux (bash, Python, git) command-line scripting and revision control
Interest in developing hardware in the loop tests and automation for manufacturing
