Job Description

InfoDefense is looking for a Firewall Engineer to join our team. The person hired into this position will assist with configuring firewalls, designing enterprise networks, building automation tooling, monitoring and responding to security events, and developing secure infrastructure. 

 

This is a full-time, salaried, remote work position. However, to be qualified the candidate must reside within the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. This position also involves being part of a rotating on-call schedule to address service outages and security incidents, which rarely may require travel.

 

Qualifications

To be successful in this position, the candidate must be proficient in networking and firewalls, especially in relation to routing, switching, and network security. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential.  We are looking for someone with the desire and ability to learn quickly, a great attitude, good work ethic, and at least two years of information technology experience including the following:

  • Firewall configuration
  • Network Administration & Troubleshooting
  • Proficient in dynamic routing concepts such as EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, etc.
  • Proficient in advanced network configurations such as SDWAN, FHRPs, HA, fully-connected networks, etc.
  • Experience designing IPSec S2S and Dialup tunnels
  • Skilled at building robust NGFW security profiles (WAF, application control, DNS filtering, etc.) and policies/rules
  • Degree from an accredited college or university


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of one or more scripting languages Python, Bash, PowerShell, JavaScript, etc.
  • Experience managing Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and networks
  • Fundamental understanding of NIST SP 800-171, CMMC 2.0, or any other regulatory standards (HIPAA, SOX, PCI-DSS, etc)
  • Certifications (CISSP, Security +, CEH, CISA, CISM, Fortinet NSE4, Microsoft) and any other cyber security related certification
  • Military service is a plus
  • Knowledge of Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiOS) is a big plus
  • Kubernetes experience is a big plus


Compensation
