Ventus Executive Solutions is seeking askilled Fire Control Technician to support an innovative program. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on Fleet experience with submarine combat systems—especially AN/BYG-1 and/or submarine sonar systems—and the ability to translate operational knowledge into disciplined engineering, testing, and lifecycle support activities. The candidate in this role will operate within secure government facilities and collaborate closely with NUWC engineers, Fleet operators, and industry partners to advance next-generation Navy combat systems. Work Location: Onsite: Newport, RI

Travel: Less than 10% (generally test events, reviews, or installation support)

Clearance: Secret

Required Experience: 

  • Former or current U.S. Navy Fire Control Technician (Submarine) or Sonar Technician (Submarine), E-5 or above.
  • Experience operating, maintaining, or supporting the AN/BYG-1 Combat Control System, submarine sonar systems, or related submarine systems.
  • Familiarity with Navy maintenance documentation, system testing processes, or configuration management practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in classified environments and secure government facilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience collaborating in technical teams.

 

Desired Experience: 

  • Systems Engineering: requirements analysis, interface documentation, integration experience.
  • Test & Evaluation: software validation, hardware integration, operational or developmental test execution.
  • Integrated Logistics Support: provisioning, maintenance planning, technical manuals (RRM/IETM), and lifecycle support.
  • Configuration Management: baseline management, documentation control, and change tracking.
  • Prior submarine combat systems operational tours or NUWC/industry experience supporting SSN/SSBN systems.
