Role Overview

The FP&A Manager will play a critical role in driving financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making for Europe region, including 19 countries. This role partners closely with Europe’s senior management to provide insight into financial performance, profitability, budgeting, and forecasting in a professional services environment.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience in professional services (Big4) or legal firms, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes for the Europe region
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives, pricing decisions, and growth plans
  • Analyze revenue, cost drivers, utilization, realization, and profitability by country, practice group
  • Prepare presentations for the Europe top management, Europe Board etc.

Performance Reporting

  • Prepare monthly management reports and variance analysis
  • Provide clear commentary on financial performance versus budget and forecast
  • Monitor KPIs relevant to legal operations, including billable hours, leverage, margins, and collections

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Improve FP&A processes, tools, and reporting efficiency
  • Support enhancements to financial systems and reporting tools
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across financial reports

Ad Hoc & Strategic Analysis

  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses related to market conditions and cost structures
  • Support office expansion, or strategic investment evaluations as needed

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (ACCA preferred)
  • 5–8+ years of FP&A or financial analysis experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment, Big4 experience will be an advantage
  • Strong understanding of legal industry metrics (billable hours, utilization, realization, leverage) preferred
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills
  • High proficiency in Excel is a key; experience with financial planning systems and BI tools is a plus
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial insights to non-finance stakeholders
