The Financial Data Analyst will play a key role in analyzing transaction data, financial performance metrics, and operational trends within the payments ecosystem. This role supports strategic decision-making by delivering actionable insights related to revenue, costs, risk, customer behavior, and product performance. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, deep familiarity with payment flows, and experience working with large datasets and financial reporting tools.


Key Responsibilities

- Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Analyze large volumes of payment transaction data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities.
  • Develop dashboards and financial reports to support revenue forecasting, margin analysis, and executive decision-making.
  • Track key KPIs such as authorization rates, interchange costs, transaction volume, chargebacks, and settlement performance.
  • Conduct variance analysis across revenue streams, costs, and financial KPIs.

-Financial Analysis:

  • Build and maintain financial models for revenue projections, pricing scenarios, and cost-to-serve calculations.
  • Support buyout execution and performance with data-driven insights.
  • Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Perform sensitivity analysis to evaluate the impact of pricing, volume, and operational changes in payment flows.

-Payments Industry Analysis:

  • Evaluate payment processor performance and cost structures (e.g., interchange, assessments, gateway fees).
  • Analyze customer payment behaviors across card, ACH, digital wallets, and alternative payment methods.
  • Monitor industry benchmarks and market trends related to payments, fraud, and financial performance.

-Business Support:

  • Partner with Product, Finance, Revenue, Risk, and Operations teams to analyze performance and improve profitability.
  • Provide insights for pricing optimization, partner negotiations, and financial strategy.
  • Present analytical findings and actionable recommendations to senior leadership in a clear, concise format.

Qualifications
-Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in financial analysis, data analytics, or payments/fintech.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience working with large datasets.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.).
  • Understanding of payment processing flows (authorization, clearing, settlement), interchange, and fee structures.

-Technical Skills:

  • Experience with Python or R for data modeling and automation.
  • Strong skills in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets
