Financial Crime Operations (FC Ops)  

We’re building an amazing, centralised department and we’re looking for an ambitious and purpose-driven Financial Crime Controls & Assurance Officer to join us.  

You will be working in the Financial Crime Operations (FC Ops) department, reporting Financial Crime Operations Assistant Manager.  The department is in an exciting transformation phase, where FC Ops are creating a first line centralised function that will support all products offered by Tandem. This expansion will provide the successful candidate with opportunities to grow and develop as the department matures.   

What you will be working on: 

  • Reviewing and making decisions on potential PEPs, sanctions and adverse media screening alerts. 
  • Performing Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and, where appropriate, Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD). 
  • Conducting ongoing monitoring via periodic reviews and trigger events 
  • Investigating Suspicious Activity Reports. 
  • Critically analysing processes and controls, making recommendations for optimisation. 
  • Proactively contributing to the success of the department by sharing knowledge and ideas, a willingness to challenge the status quo. 
  • Supporting business areas in financial crime related queries and providing approvals when required. 
  • Supporting other functions in FC Ops where required. 

 

What we're looking for:  

  • Minimum of 3 years-experience in financial crime and/or fraud prevention roles within FCA regulated financial services firms. 
  • Understanding and hold working knowledge of key legislation, regulatory bodies and best practice across the financial crime space. 
  • Comprehensive understanding of a customer life cycle for various financial products to include savings and lending. 
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in manage financial crime risks including but not limited to PEPs, Sanctions and Adverse Media, transaction monitoring, periodic reviews. 
  • Experience in industry recognised screening and case management platforms.  
  • Dedication to personal development, including a desire to explore professional qualifications in financial crime (e.g. ICA/ACAMS/CFE). 
  • Strong risk management skills, which can be adapted, in line with the business risk-appetites.  
  • Ability to analyse information to make informed and well-balanced judgements, and accurately document rationales.
