Financial Controller

About the opportunity:

We are working as the internal recruitment partner for our client, a pioneering VC-backed, UK based robotics software start-up dedicated to transforming how developers and businesses bring robotics to life.

We’re on the lookout for a Financial Controller to join our high-growth business. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, have experience in scaling businesses (start-ups or beyond), and love shaping financial strategy, this is the role for you.

What’s the role?
You'll be the go-to person for all things finance – running financial reports, preparing management accounts, managing compliance across UK & EU entities, and ensuring our numbers tell the right story. You’ll work closely with leadership, helping drive smart decisions as we continue to grow.

Key responsibilities:

• Leading financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting
• Preparing board-level reports and KPIs
• Ensuring compliance with financial regulations (UK & EU)
• Overseeing cash flow, treasury and financial risk
• Managing accounts payable and receivable
• Working with auditors, accountants and investors
• Supporting fundraising and financial strategy

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience in a Finance Controller or senior finance role
• Fully qualified accountant
• Background in high-growth businesses (start-ups or scale-ups ideal)
• Strong financial reporting, compliance and multi-entity accounting knowledge
• Exposure to VC funders/investor relations with experience in fundraising
• Hands-on, strategic thinker with a proactive mindset
