Job Mission / Objective

The incumbent will be responsible for financial data analysis, creating insightful reporting, and supporting decision-making across the organization. The incumbent will work cross-functionally with teams to drive financial transparency, identify trends, and optimize business performance through actionable insights.

Reporting and preparing required reports for Bank, Group, different shareholders, and other stakeholders as required.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Partner in the development and automation of financial reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Manage the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Analyze financial performance, including revenue, expenses, profitability, and ROI, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand drivers of financial outcomes and support forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Oversee the consolidation of financial data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Partner with IT/data teams to maintain and enhance financial systems and data infrastructure.
  • Develop ad hoc financial models and analyses to support business initiatives and special projects.
  • Preparation, ownership, and control of all Access Bank Limited BA returns taking into account the Bank’s Act and Basel regulations as set out by the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and reporting standards.
  • Ensuring that all transactions (financial and non-financial) and reports are correct, accurate and recorded in terms of IFRS and relevant laws concerning Banks and other regulations governing companies in South Africa.
  • Accurate and timeous information for all Business Units and Cost Centers to execute their functions.
  • To ensure that stakeholders are fully appraised of current and potential financial risk exposure
  • Development of staff through sharing and frequent communications by means of newly developed accounting policies and procedures as recommended by the industry.
  • Improvement of internal controls.
  • Improvement and automation of reporting and financial monitoring.
  • Execution of regulatory financial information to be used by different stakeholders – ALCCO, SARB, SARS, and shareholders.
  • Implement financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Ensure that appropriate controls are in place to safeguard all Bank assets.

Requirements

Academic Knowledge:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  •  Good working knowledge of IFRS, revenue and cost modeling

Work Experience:

  • 5–8+ years of experience in financial analysis, or reporting roles; prior leadership or management experience preferred.
