Marcus & Millichap is seeking a motivated Financial Analyst specializing in Hospitality assets to join its Brokerage Transaction Support platform. This corporate-level role is an opportunity to work in a rapidly growing department within the firm while becoming a trusted advisor to the firm’s top sales agents across the country.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate collection and organization of due diligence material from Agents.
Perform sub-market location research to identify local economic drivers, leasing trends, population trends and recent/future developments.
Analyze various property financial statements and make recommendations on underwriting assumptions based on the past performance of the asset.
Build, edit, and maintain institutional level financial models using Microsoft Excel.
Presenting analyses and/or financial models in a clear manner.
Ability to answer questions effectively from the Manager of Financial Analysis and Sales Agents regarding analyses and financial models that have been produced.
Assist in reviewing the financial sections within our marketing packages.
Work successfully in a high-volume role where managing multiple projects at a time is the norm.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Business, related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired.
1-2 years of commercial real estate experience including brokerage, lending, appraisals, development, or acquisitions is required.
Exposure to hospitality assets is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required.
Familiarity with various programs/resources such as Costar, Smith Travel Research (STR), etc.
Understanding of financial principles (IRR, Cap Rate, etc.) and how they relate to real estate assets.
Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, with the ability to explain your work in a clear, concise manner.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
