ABOUT THE ROLE 
The Algorand Foundation is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and financial processes across the Foundation’s global activities. This role is well suited for a finance professional seeking hands-on exposure to accounting, reporting and compliance in a fast-paced, remote-first Web3 environment.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Assist with preparing and posting journal entries in multiple areas across the business
  
• Support month-end close activities, including; cash and balance sheet reconciliations with variance analysis
• Own and manage end-to-end Accounts Payable processes (fiat and crypto)
• Process vendor invoices, employee expenses and crypto-based payments accurately, ensuring compliance with internal controls and approval policies
• Maintain and reconcile AP sub-ledgers, vendor balances and payment records, investigating and resolving discrepancies as they arise
  
• Support budgeting, management reporting and internal finance reporting as required
  
• Assist with audit, tax and compliance-related data preparation
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve accounting queries
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, controls and automation, contributing to the scalability of the finance function

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably: Accounting, Finance or a related discipline)
  
• 1-3 years of experience in accounting, finance or audit
  
• Familiarity with accounting systems and strong Excel skills
• Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  
• Knowledge in accounting software (preferably Sage Intacct), Excel and modelling tools preferred
• Hands-on and proactive professional with ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders.
  
• Ability to work on ad hoc projects
  
• Detail oriented, analytical, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing conditions/ambiguity
  
• Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities
