About the role:

We are seeking an ambitious, motivated and highly organised Finance Officer to join our team in Ghana. They will provide key support on financial reporting and management of Rising’s operations across Ghana, timely and accurate reporting, compliance with laws and regulations, adherence to Rising policies and procedures and implement adequate internal controls over financial reporting and management.

The Finance Officer will:

  • Reconcile revenue and all balance sheet accounts on daily, weekly and monthly basis for sign off. 
  • Assist in the mid-year and year-end financial reporting and audit processes and ensure Rising scores positive audit feedback.
  • Maintain proper and accurate general ledger for Rising Academy Network.
  • Ensure adequate documentation for all transactions and ensure all requisitions are adequately authorised.
  • Ensure all supporting documents are uploaded into the accounting software
  • Maintain good relationships with banks, external auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Adherence to RAN's finance policies and procedures and contribute to improving existing policies and procedures.
  • Assist other departments on finance related transactions.

Location and reporting:

This is a full-time on-site position. The Finance Officer will report to the Finance Manager, Ghana and will primarily be based in our Ghana HQ Office at Weija-Accra.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Business Administration (Accounting) or relevant field; partly qualified in ICA/ACCA/CIMA would be a plus.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting and well trained.
  • Strong numeracy and advanced understanding of accounting principles.
